Villa
Maricel Grounds.
Villa Maricel can be accessed from the public road or from the
marina.
The plot is roughly triangular, sloping down from road
level to the waterfront, and has been terraced to give the
best possible views while retaining privacy. It has many mature trees, and has been
carefully planned to make best use of
the site, with varying levels and styles of planting.

From the street, a wrought iron security gate opens onto steps down to a large walled courtyard, with mature trees, and a small
fountain and fish pond. The front door and principal kitchen both
open directly into the courtyard, and there is an outside dining table for about 8
people. A separate
gate for vehicles slopes down to the garage which takes one car
plus a large storage space. This entry is entirely sheltered by
a car port for 2 or 3 cars, and firewood storage for the living
room fireplace.
There are also several exterior storage areas for
garden and maintenance equipment.

A mature, low maintenance garden of about 1.300 sq.m. surrounds
the villa. Large pine trees shade the courtyard
and the greenery provides a noticeable cool and fresh
microclimate in the summer. An automatic sprinkler system waters
the garden. A professional gardener has always maintained the
garden. The pool terrace has fine views over the marina, and another
outdoor dining and barbecue area. A sundeck overlooks a lower
lawn, where its is envisaged that a second pool could be
located. There are steps down from here to a secure gate onto
the waterfront, from which it is about 300 metres to the yacht
club restaurant, cafe, etc. A fish pond and small stream
have been located in the planting along the lower perimeter
fence:
the fish are a natural prevention system against mosquitoes as
they eat any mosquito larvae in the water. Clicking on any of the pictures below will open a gallery of larger images
